The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) posted a remarkable 80% passing rate in the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination administered last May 13. It is way above 37.53% national passing rate.Eight out of ten examinees from the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) passed the examination.
They were among the 1, 995 passers out of 5, 315 examinees nationwide.
The new accountants are: Lualhati Balmeo, Ruby Mae Cahido, Ruby Ann Garcia, Jerymy Lumibao, Michael Jhames Marilag, Delria Natividad, Jennilyn Reboron, and Analyn Tugas.
CLSU performance in the examination made the university the top performing school in Region III.
In May 2011, the university registered 61.54% passing rate (16 passers out of 26 examinees) as against the 40.50% national passing rate. (With reports from CBAA Accountancy Section)
A total of 54 students from various colleges in the University completed the WIWAG® program held last November 28-December 2 at the Research, Extension and Training function rooms, CLSU.
The participants were taught how best to manage a company or business by enhancing their understanding of finance, production, marketing, corporate social responsibility, and human resources and showing them the interrelation of these functions.
CLSU is the first university in Nueva Ecija to become a recipient of this program.
WIWAG stands for Wirtschafts Wochen-AG which means Business Weeks® in English.
WIWAG® program is a five-day computer assisted business simulation game developed by the Ernst Schmidheiny Foundation in cooperation with the Institute of Economics Education at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. It has been successfully implemented in Switzerland and Germany for over 20 years.
Bato Balani Foundation (BBFI) is the license holder of the WIWAG® program in the Philippines. As part of its contribution to entrepreneurship education, BBFI aims to train 10,000 student entrepreneurs from 2011 to 2020 through its WIWAG® program.
Two simultaneous trainings consisting of 28 participants per group were facilitated by two WIWAG® Master instructors – Mr. Reynaldo Lomarda and Mr. Emmanuel Tagunicar - and two WIWAG® instructors – Wovi Villanueva and Salvador Togle-who gave lectures and consultancy advice. Mutya Delos Reyes, WIWAG® program manager, also gave lectures.
The participants were divided into groups and were asked to assign their members as Chief Executive Officer, Vice President (VP) for Communications, VP for Personnel, VP for Equipment and Material, VP for Finance, VP for Product Development, Production and Stores, and VP for Marketing.
