CLSU scores 80% passing rate in CPA licensure exam
The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) posted a remarkable 80% passing rate in the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination administered last May 13. It is way above 37.53% national passing rate.Eight out of ten examinees from the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) passed the examination. They were among the 1, 995 passers out of 5, 315 examinees nationwide. The new accountants are: Lualhati Balmeo, Ruby Mae Cahido, Ruby Ann Garcia, Jerymy Lumibao, Michael Jhames Marilag, Delria Natividad, Jennilyn Reboron, and Analyn Tugas. CLSU performance in the examination made the university the top performing school in Region III. In May 2011, the university registered 61.54% passing rate (16 passers out of 26 examinees) as against the 40.50% national passing rate. Swiss Embassy sponsors WIWAG training for CLSU students
A total of 54 students from various colleges in the University completed the WIWAG® program held last November 28-December 2 at the Research, Extension and Training function rooms, CLSU.   The participants were taught how best to manage a company or business by enhancing their understanding of finance, production, marketing, corporate social responsibility, and human resources and showing them the interrelation of these functions. CLSU is the first university in Nueva Ecija to become a recipient of this program. WIWAG stands for Wirtschafts Wochen-AG which means Business Weeks® in English. WIWAG® program is a five-day computer assisted business simulation game developed by the Ernst Schmidheiny Foundation in cooperation with the Institute of Economics Education at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. It has been successfully implemented in Switzerland and Germany for over 20 years. Bato Balani Foundation (BBFI) is the license holder of the WIWAG® program in the Philippines. As part of its contribution to entrepreneurship education, BBFI aims to train 10,000 student entrepreneurs from 2011 to 2020 through its WIWAG® program. Two simultaneous trainings consisting of 28 participants per group were facilitated by two WIWAG® Master instructors – Mr. Reynaldo Lomarda and Mr. Emmanuel Tagunicar - and two WIWAG® instructors – Wovi Villanueva and Salvador Togle-who gave lectures and consultancy advice. Mutya Delos Reyes, WIWAG® program manager, also gave lectures. The participants were divided into groups and were asked to assign their members as Chief Executive Officer, Vice President (VP) for Communications, VP for Personnel, VP for Equipment and Material, VP for Finance, VP for Product Development, Production and Stores, and VP for Marketing. CLSU produces new accountants
The Central Luzon State University has produced recently 32 full-fledged certified public accountants. According to Prof. Rodrigo Lucena, chair of the Departent of Accountancy of the CLSU College of Business Administration and Accountancy,  the new CPA's were among 55 examinees from CLSU  who took the exams last  October 9,10,16 and 17.CLSU posted a passing rate of 58 percent  which is  way above the national passing percentage of 48 percent.The successful examinees are as follows: Marie Elaine C. CLSU is 4th top performing school in CPA exam
In Category D, nationwide ' CLSU is 4th top performing school in CPA exam For obtaining a passing rate of 79% in the May 2010 board examination for Certified Public Accountants, the Central Luzon State University- College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) landed No. 4 among schools nationwide with 10-25 examinees (Category D).The national passing percentage was 39%. According to Prof. Rodrigo B. Lucena, chair, Department of Accountancy, 19 out of 24 examinees from CLSU hurdled the examination. This feat also placed CLSU once again as the No. 1 performing school in Region III. Dr. Danilo S. Castro, CBAA dean, attributes the very satisfactory performance of the graduates not only to their innate talent but also to the rigid admission requirements and examinations prescribed by the college and the overall training they get both from their academic and extra-curricular activities.
